Producer / Director
Miguel Almagro resides in Austin, Texas, a burgeoning hub for the film industry and creative community. Miguel is an accomplished filmmaker hailing from Barcelona, has acquired extensive international experience producing and directing films while living in vibrant cities such as Los Angeles, Singapore, London and Miami. His journey has provided him with invaluable insights into diversity and inclusion, collaborating with cast and crew from a myriad of backgrounds and cultures. His body of work includes critically acclaimed narrative films produced in the USA, UK and South East Asia.
Fueled by a deep passion for storytelling, Miguel is dedicated to challenging societal norms through his artistic endeavors. His devotion to genuine representation in cinema not only enhances his stories but also builds bridges across cultures. Each project aims to celebrate the richness of the human experience, with a goal to inspire and provoke thought among audiences everywhere.
Most recently, he worked on California’s Oakleaf Productions series "Rebound", a sports documentary detailing the injuries of professional female soccer players, now available on the CORE platform. He also collaborated with the LA-based agency Acento to create a global commercial campaign for LA METRO.
In Singapore, Miguel was behind Castle Island Pictures, an award-winning production company creating short films, commercials and music videos. Moreover, he created commercials featuring brands like Toyota, including collaborations with WR Olympic swimmer Joseph Schooling. His directorial work extends to commercials for Universal Studios, Ferrero Rocher, Hask, and music videos for Sony Music. He has closely collaborated with creative teams from agencies such as Dentsu, McCann, Ogilvy, BBH, and Gyro.
In London, His short film "The Woman and The Machine" won the Best UK Short Film award at the Performing Arts film festival. He had the pleaseure to collaborate in the making of feature films.
Early in his career, Miguel ventured into digital advertising, where he designed websites for major brands including Audi, Ford, Deutsche Bank, and Accenture, while also developing advertising campaigns for Paramount Pictures, Disney, Royal Mail, Prudential, Cadbury, Land Rover, Virgin, Sky TV, and Absolute Vodka.
